Suitability of Polyurethane Foam Plug for Solid Phase Extraction of PCDDs, PCDFs and DL-PCBs from Water Samples

Polyurethane foam (PUF) plug was examined as a solid-phase extraction adsorbent in the analysis of dioxins water samples according to JIS K 0312 method. Confirmation tests required by method showed that PUF able sufficiently adsorb and retain suitable for extraction. In addition, acidification sample with HCl is effective improving adsorption ability plug.
